How to delete your QR Crab account

Delete your QR Crab account and all its data: what gets removed, which printed QR codes stop working and which keep working, and what happens to your plan.

You can delete your QR Crab account yourself at any time from the Account & billing page. It's permanent, and it affects codes you've already printed, so read what happens below first.

How to delete your account

  1. Open your account. In the dashboard, open the account menu (top right) and choose Account & billing.
  2. Scroll to Delete account. The Delete account box is at the bottom of the page.
  3. Confirm it's you. Type your password in Your password.
  4. Delete. Click Delete my account, then confirm in the box that asks “Delete your account and everything in it? This can't be undone.” You're logged out and taken to the home page.

What gets deleted

Everything in your account: your login and settings, every QR code, all scan stats, form responses and coupon claims, and every file you uploaded (PDFs, images, audio, video). Your sessions are ended on every device. Deleted data may stay in our hosting provider's backups for up to 30 days. Stripe keeps its payment records as required for tax and accounting. See our Privacy Policy.

Which printed codes stop working

Kind of codeAfter you delete your account
Trackable codes (all types)Stop working. People who scan them see a “not active” page.
Static link codes: URL, Facebook, X / Twitter, YouTube, LocationStop working. These open through a qrcrab.com link, which no longer exists.
Static codes with the content inside: Wi-Fi, contact card, MeCard, text, email, phone, SMS, event, BitcoinKeep working. Everything is stored in the code itself, so it never contacts QR Crab.

The qrcrab.com links of deleted codes are retired for good: nobody can create a new code with the same link, not even as a custom link. So a printed code from your old account can never start sending people somewhere you didn't choose.

If you have codes on menus, signs or packaging, replace them before you delete your account, or keep the account. A Free account costs nothing and keeps up to 3 trackable codes editable; extra ones stay locked but keep working (see What happens to my QR codes after I downgrade?).

What happens to your subscription

If you're on Premium or Pro, deleting your account cancels the subscription immediately, so you won't be charged again. The unused part of the period isn't refunded. If your first payment was less than 7 days ago, email support@qrcrab.com for a refund before deleting the account; see How to upgrade, change or cancel your plan, and get a refund.

Something smaller might be enough

  • Stop paying but keep your codes: cancel your subscription instead. You move to Free at the end of the period and your codes keep working.
  • Stop one code: open it and switch off Active; people who scan it see a “not active” page. You can switch it back on later.
  • Remove one code for good: delete just that code from its edit page.

Want a copy of your data first? On Premium and Pro you can export scans as CSV from each code's Stats tab, and download your code images at any time.

Common questions

Can I undo it or get my codes back?

No. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Copies may stay in our hosting provider's backups for up to 30 days before they're gone for good, but they can't be used to restore your account.

Can I sign up again with the same email?

Yes, but you start from scratch: none of your old codes, stats or settings come back, and new codes get new links.

I forgot my password. How do I delete my account?

Reset it first with Forgot password? on the log-in page, then log in and follow the steps above.

Do I need to cancel my subscription first?

No. Deleting the account cancels it straight away. If billing can't be reached at that moment, your account isn't deleted and you're asked to try again, so you're never charged for an account that no longer exists.
