How to make a social media QR code for all your links
Updated:
Put Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, WhatsApp and more behind one QR code: a hosted links page you can edit any time, with scan stats.
A social media QR code opens one mobile page with your name, photo, bio and a button for each of your profiles. People scan once and pick where to follow you, which is handy on business cards, packaging, posters and shop windows.
Create a social media QR code
- Choose Social media. In the dashboard, click New QR code and pick Social media under Pages, files & forms.
- Add your name and bio. Fill in Name, and optionally a short Bio and a Profile picture.
- Add your links. Under Links, click Add link, choose the network and paste the full address of your profile. Add up to 20 links and reorder them as you like.
- Style, create and download. Adjust colours and logo, click Create QR code and download it.
The guided editor (Try the new editor (beta)) has the same fields, split into Content, Look and Finish steps.
Paste the full profile address, starting with https:// (for example https://instagram.com/yourname). Copy it from the app's “Share profile” option or from your browser to avoid typos.
What people see when they scan
The page shows your profile picture (or your initials), your name and bio, then one button per link with the network's icon and a short version of the address. Buttons appear in the order you set in the editor, so put the profile you care about most at the top.
Social media pages are always trackable: the page lives on QR Crab, so you can edit it any time and see every scan. This is why there's no static option for this type. Creating a trackable code needs a confirmed email address.
See how many people scan it
In the dashboard, open the code → Stats to see scans over time. On Premium and Pro you also see countries, cities, operating systems, browsers and recent scans. The stats count scans of the QR code; clicks on each link inside the page aren't counted separately. Read What does QR Crab record when someone scans a code? for what a scan records.
Tips for a links page that works
- Keep it short. Three to six links are easier to choose from than twenty.
- Use a clear profile picture or logo so people know they're in the right place.
- Tell people what they get next to the printed code, e.g. “Follow us for daily specials”.
- Test it with a couple of phones before printing a large batch.
Common questions
Which networks can I add?
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X / Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitch, Spotify and GitHub, plus Website for any other link.
Can I change my links after printing?
Yes. The QR code points to your page on QR Crab, so you can add, remove or reorder links any time in Edit & design and the printed code shows the new version.
I only want to share one profile. Do I need this page?
No. For a single link, a How to make a QR code for a website goes straight to it. There are also dedicated Facebook, YouTube and X / Twitter types that can be static or trackable.
Is it free?
Yes, it works on the Free plan. It uses one of your trackable codes (3 on Free), and on Free the page shows a small “Made with QR Crab” badge.
